Week four was very relaxing! The classes went very smoothly. I think this was the week I really just started getting 100% comfortable to move around Costa Rica without having to ask too many people or get lost. This weeks field trip we visited San Lucas Prison, which I see as our Alcatraz. It was crazy hot, but the one fact that mostly stayed with me was that they had no doctor on the island for the prisoners, only a vet. So if something happened, a person that was specialized with animals had to apply their knowledge to a human. After that we had about an hour and a half boat ride to Jesusita Islands. The boat ride was absolutely beautiful! Nothing but waves, and lonely islands. When we finally made it to Jesusita Islands, I had to run straight to the water! It was warm and calm and just purely relaxing. I have to say that this is where I have had the best food! We had bbq chicken, rice, crusted fish, veggies, and wine. Everything was spot on cooked to perfection!
For our last weekend in Costa Rica, my friends and I decided to make a trip to Manuel Antonio. We had met a local who told us, "if you don't go to Manuel Antonio while you're out here, then you really didn't come to Costa Rica." Truthfully, Manuel Antonio really wasn't what we had expected, but the trip was very relaxing. It was full of a lot of food, dancing, and swimming!
